A Timeless Late Summer Wedding at Hotel Boulderado & Black Cat Farm | Dylan & Katherine

Every once in a while, a wedding comes along that feels so effortlessly elegant, so thoughtfully designed, and so full of love that it lingers with you long after the day ends. Dylan and Katherine’s late summer wedding in Boulder was exactly that — a celebration that blended classic style, vibrant seasonal details, and intimate moments that truly reflected who they are as a couple.

As a bridal hair and makeup artist, I get to be part of so many beautiful love stories. But this wedding stands out as one of my absolute favorites of the year.

Getting Ready at the Historic Hotel Boulderado

The morning began at Hotel Boulderado — a beloved Boulder landmark filled with character, vintage charm, and soft natural light that’s a dream for bridal prep. Katherine’s suite was full of calm energy, the kind that makes you instantly feel that the day is going to be something special.

Katherine had a very clear vision for her bridal look: minimal, natural makeup that simply enhanced her beautiful features, paired with a lived-in half-up, half-down hairstyle. She wanted to feel like herself, just elevated in the most timeless way.

For makeup, we focused on creating fresh, glowing skin, a soft flush on the cheeks, and light definition around the eyes — nothing heavy or overdone. A sheer lip tint completed the look, keeping everything romantic and effortless.

Her hair was softly textured with volume through the crown, and loosely pulled back to allow movement and flow. The final touch: a mantilla veil, which framed her face and added that old-world, classic bridal beauty that I’ll never stop loving.

A Ceremony & Celebration at Black Cat Farm

After a serene morning at the hotel, the celebration moved to Black Cat Farm — a gorgeous working farm just outside of Boulder. Late summer in Colorado is magical; the fields are lush, the sunsets golden, and the air has that warm, lingering softness that makes everything feel romantic.

Their planner, @sipssocietyevents, brought everything together seamlessly, creating a day that felt intentional and full of heart.

Katherine and Dylan’s wedding was small and intimate, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The atmosphere was joyful and relaxed, and the vibrant seasonal colors fit the time of year perfectly. It felt both elevated and deeply personal, which is such a beautiful balance to achieve.

Why This Wedding Was My Favorite

There are so many reasons this wedding still gives me butterflies.

First, Katherine’s look was the perfect example of how timeless beauty doesn’t need to be complicated. Her minimal makeup and soft hairstyle paired with that exquisite mantilla veil created a bridal look that will never go out of style.

Second, the overall design of the day was creative, vibrant, and elegant without ever feeling fussy. From the warm colors to the intimate setting, everything was thoughtfully curated to reflect the couple’s personalities.

And finally, it was just so full of love. Sometimes, you can feel it in the air — the laughter, the happy tears, the way everyone is fully present. This was one of those weddings.

The Dream Team

It truly takes a village to bring a wedding day to life. Dylan & Katherine’s vendor team was incredible:
